The Story

Malenadu presents the peacock as a compact study in line, colour and counted stitch. Worked entirely by hand in Murgi and Gavanti, the motif unfolds from a slender central form into finely articulated plumage, with contrasting threads defining its branching silhouette.

The embroidery occupies only a small part of the khadi, leaving the surrounding cloth intentionally open. This restraint draws the eye towards the density and precision of the needlework, while the handwoven surface retains its natural variations in texture and character.

Colour Variations
