The surface shows a vertical arrangement of small flowering sprigs positioned along a single directional flow. Each element is defined through fine Sozni stitches, where line is built by needle movement rather than filled embroidery.

In Kashmiri embroidery practice, such floral branches are constructed through continuous stitch direction so that stems appear drawn across the cloth. The pattern follows the logic of a growing shoot rather than a repeated field layout.

The embroidery is carried onto a khadi shirt.

Sozni is a fine needle embroidery tradition associated with the Kashmir Valley. Executed using delicate stitches and fine threads, the practice is recognised for its precision, subtle shading and detailed surface articulation. Floral forms, foliage, paisleys and natural motifs frequently appear within its visual language.
