Chamba Rumal - Yellow Midnight Blossoms | 100% Khadi | Limited Edition
The Story
A rectangular khadi surface is enclosed by a continuous stitched edge, establishing a defined outer boundary across the cloth.
The perimeter is articulated through evenly spaced red threadwork, forming a consistent enclosing frame along all sides.
The embroidered composition is positioned toward one corner of the field, leaving the surrounding area largely unoccupied.
Within this space, a cluster of plant forms is constructed through vertical stems branching into multiple leaf structures.
The leaves are rendered in alternating colour groupings—yellow, deep red, and green—each filled with closely worked stitches following the contour of the form.
Stems are defined through linear threadwork, connecting the leaf clusters into upright units of varying height.
Spacing between the plant forms remains measured, allowing each cluster to retain separation while maintaining visual continuity within the grouping.
Subtle variation in stitch direction and density is visible across the leaves, indicating manual execution.
The embroidery is executed drawing from Chamba Rumal visual language, using fine hand-controlled needlework.
The work follows the Do-rukha technique, producing identical articulation on both sides without visible knotting.
The embroidery is applied on khadi using fine hand-applied threadwork.
