Chamba Rumal – Rabbit Won the Race | 100% Khadi | Limited Edition
The Story
A stitched boundary defines the textile surface, enclosing the khadi cloth within a continuous frame formed by evenly spaced threadwork along all edges.
The interior remains largely unworked, with the embroidered composition positioned away from the center.
A mother rabbit is depicted facing inward, her form shaped through closely layered white stitches. The ears, limbs, torso, and tail are articulated through controlled thread placement, with tonal variation emerging through stitch density.
A baby rabbit is positioned close to the mother, oriented toward her. Its form is rendered through finer stitching, with a compact structure and reduced detailing.
Small green plant clusters are placed near the figures, while fine linear stitches beneath them establish ground alignment.
Each motif is separated by open space, allowing the forms to remain clearly defined within the field.
The embroidery is executed drawing from Chamba Rumal visual language, using fine hand-applied needlework.
The work is carried out in the Do-rukha technique, with identical visual articulation on both sides and no visible knotting.
Subtle variation in stitch direction and density reflects manual execution.
The embroidery is executed on khadi fabric.
