Chamba Rumal – Himalayan G.O.A.T | 100% Khadi | Limited Edition
The Story
A continuous stitched boundary encloses the khadi surface, establishing a defined rectangular field.
Red threadwork marks the perimeter through evenly spaced stitches, maintaining a consistent outer edge.
The embroidered cluster occupies one side of the field, leaving the remaining surface open.
Forward orientation defines the primary figure, where a mother Himalayan goat is articulated through compact white stitching. Horns, limbs, torso, and tail are resolved through controlled thread placement, with a vertical band interrupting the body.
Close to this form, a baby goat is positioned in alignment, its structure rendered through finer stitches and reduced detailing.
Green plant clusters appear intermittently around the figures, while fine linear stitching beneath them establishes ground alignment.
Each element is held apart within the field, maintaining clarity through deliberate spacing.
Needlework follows Chamba Rumal visual language, expressed through fine hand-applied thread.
The piece is worked in Do-rukha technique, resulting in identical articulation on both sides without visible knotting.
Irregular shifts in stitch direction and density reflect manual execution.
The embroidery is carried out on khadi fabric.
